View Full Version : moome's DVI for XG available yet?
larrykelly 04-09-07, 01:31 PM I heard that Moome will be taking orders this week on his new DVI input card for XGs. Has anyone heard whether this will become a reality yet? Is this the place to watch for his announcement? I am planning to hook up my XG 110ac to HD satelite and HDDVD player through a lumegan HDP and into the Moome DVI, "HDCP to analog convertor" (so to speak) input card. Is this the best choice for video path?
larrykelly 04-10-07, 10:41 AM Is everyone staying away from this one on purpose?
NateTTU 04-10-07, 11:53 AM I have no clue, why don't you send moome a pm about this?
Mark_A_W 04-10-07, 05:45 PM Larry, Moome has had a DVI input card available for over a year - I'm not sure if he has stock currently.
I believe he is working on a HDMI input card with Gamma boost- is that what you mean?
YONEXSP 04-10-07, 07:53 PM Oh Mark I want one!
p.s I took your advice. Cleaned the basement up, and now it is back being used again for movies :)
NateTTU 04-10-07, 08:07 PM Can someone send me a link to moome's site? Thanks.

larrykelly 04-11-07, 10:30 AM took your advice, sent moome a message and he said that the HDMI cards will be ready at about mid year. Yes I meant HDMI card in the first place. I don't know if I can do without TV for 4 or 4 more months but I guess I will have to bite the bullet and wait.
benareeno 04-11-07, 04:37 PM This is good to know...now I'll hold off on any transcoder purchase and just wait for the internal HDMI card for NEC!
Just to clarify, will this card have the gamma adjustment as well??
Ben
larrykelly 04-12-07, 01:38 AM recieved a response from moome today and he said there are no specs or firm date available yet as the card is still in development. Hope it's ready soon.
Mark_A_W 04-12-07, 02:02 AM For 4 months I'd consider buying the DVI card to start with..
There is (or was) a second hand one for sale on the other site.
YONEXSP 04-12-07, 03:28 PM Do you think Moome can make it support HDMI 1.3?
mavromatis 04-18-07, 01:49 PM For those of you using Moome's DVI card on a XG, how do you get other timings? The EDID seems to only support 59 and 60hz @ 1280x720. I'd like more... do I need to use powerstrip? (I'm also running vista ultimate)
The EDID seems to only support 59 and 60hz @ 1280x720.
I've sent everying from 48Hz to 72Hz at 480p/720p and 1080i using a VP30, so I guess the trick is to have a device that is EDID "dumb".
72Hz is not listed as supported by Moome but works great.

Completely off topic: Moome, for the love of god, spend the $4/year to register a human friendly URL for your domain! Most registrars will let you register anonymously too... if you don't want to give out any info.
