Hi all,
First off, I'm a novice here, so please go easy on me. From what I've read on other sites and some posts on here, it sounds like in my home theater set up, I should place the center channel speaker at mid screen and preferably at the same height as the L and R front speakers.
I'm getting ready to finish my basement and am looking at the theater room area. I'm leaning toward the panny TH58PX60U. That said, if the L and R are supposed to be at ear height when seated, then what's a guy to do about the center channel? With that screen size, I've either got to put the center way above or way below ear height. Sounds like if I offset them too much I'll have some audio issues. I'm looking at doing a 7.1 setup since I will have full wall enclosure (I can easily place the L and R sides and L and R rears at the same height). My room dims are 19' long, 14' wide, by 9' high.
Any suggestions?
I'm looking at in-wall speakers, so I've either got to be above or below the screen. Is it better to match all three in height, or to keep the L and R at ear height and offset the center channel.
My bro-in-law is letting me buy some of the gear through him. He's suggested Russound SP-A6W's. I can get them pretty cheap at just over $100 per pair, but are these decent or even appropriate for my needs? He claims they are pretty good speakers for the price.
Any other speaker suggestions keeping in mind that I would like to keep my speaker costs under $1,000? Thanks for any replies you send.
