Tonight I was at work (at bb) looking to see if any new blu-ray skus had been added, and I found a listing for a Spider-Man 3 Bonus Disk for blu ray. I forgot which date it's supposed to come out on, either 4/24 or 4/28. Hopefully it'll have a disk with 1080p trailers for SM3 (and possibly some info on 1 or 2). Anyone else have any info on this disk?

PS. It'll probably come with a free ticket to see SM3 too.

With the idiot management at my BB they'll give it away to any noobie off the street instead of people who actually know what it is. That's what they did with South Park HD DVD discs and NIN Blu-ray demos. What a bunch of retards!!

Just as long as it's a freebie. I have no intention of purchasing this movie on SD-DVD again, especially not with the possibility of a BD release so close.

Actually, i'd rather have spiderman 1 and 2 on blu-ray but more than likely will have to wait till the end of the year when spiderman 3 is released on blu-ray

Well I hope this is not the same thing but I was in my local Wal-Mart today...they still refuse to stick blu rays...but anyway...I saw they had a two pack...it was the Standard DVD of Spider-man 2.1 plus a free separate disc in its own case...it was the Villians of Spiderman 3 and it was 13 mins. long and it was only a SD...is this what this thread is referring to? Why is Sony not releasing at least 2.1 on Blu Ray? They are missing key sales here!

Makes total sense. The key issue is whether or not 2.1 will be available. Having just watched it, I prefer this cut. Plus, this film has been remastered for 2.1. There is a visable difference between the first release of this film on DVD and this new set. They took a lot of grain out of the picture. It doesn't look flat anymore. The colors pop more. The image is more consistent throughout the picture. Me thinks that this remaster of the film was done for the eventual Blu-Ray release....

But how does this make perfect sense? By the fall the Spiderman buzz will not be as strong as it is before the release of Spider-man 3 in May. They are making a huge mistake! Look at Pirates. They are doing it right! Hook, sink, and bait!

I mean, I guess. Either way works for me but I kind of like the idea of Sony waiting until the fall to put the Trilogy out as one, with the DVD release of Spider-Man 3.

I truly hope that they make 2.1 available on Blu-Ray but I have this feeling they won't....

One of my Wal-Marts put 2.1 on shelves early. It comes bundled with an exclusive DVD about the villains of 3. It says on the back it is 13 minutes long.

I thought about buying it because it has exclusive new features from the old 2-disc set, but I'll just wait for the BD. If the new footage is cool I'll just be ticked it wont be on the BD and if its crap I'll just be dissapointed. Either way I'm spoiled on BD so it'll look like crap. Even though it was only $12.88 it didn't seem worth it to me.

what have you seen that looks awful? I believe spider man 2 (the game) was awful, but supposedly they did a lot of work to make SM3 a lot better. Anyways, I'll wait for the full review before buying.

I've stopped at a couple of BB and no one has heard on any bonus disc with BR content. Can someone confirm with certaintly either way? Sounds like the OP misread his is findings?

I got the Spidey 3 disc at BB today. Just had to walk in and ask and they gave me one. Not that big a deal. The teaser trailer, two theatrical trailers, which seem to be exactly the same (and I already have it on my PS3). Maybe the 2nd has the release date and the 1st didn't. I didn't even notice when I watched if that was the difference, but it must be.

A very brief sneak peak of Spidey 3 which isn't going to give you any more than the previews, which is kind of good in a way.

The preview for Spidey 1 and 2 "coming soon" is nearly worthless I'm afraid.

You can also run all the video on a loop, just like the BB was doing.

Sound is DD 5.1 or PCM for everything which is nice.

Nice high bitrate though, often peaking above 30 Mbps, always in the 20s, so the video quality is top notch. Even the main menu loops the teaser trailer in the background.

If the PS3 was the first big boost for Blu-ray, the Spider-Man trilogy will be the next one. I say this, not even being all that happy with the films. 3 looks awesome though, aside from Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst being in it. :(
