I am currently having major issues trying to make the correct connections on my home tv set up. This is What I have: Some old tv that needs an RF modulator (getting a new tv in 2 months)
On the RF Modulator it has a tv in and a tv out, an s-video and 1 set of composites
Then I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 dvr Set top box (Time Warner Digital cable) and finally a LG DR787T dvd recorder.
Basically what I want is to record from the dvr to the dvd recorder but I cannot figure out for the life of me what is wrong with the connections. Thanks in advance for any replies!

This has little to do with the TV - just run S-video/composite and audio from the DVR out to DVDr in. Then run the S-video/composite and audio fromthe DVDr out to the RF mod in. Then connect the RF mod tv out to the TV in.

Things will get simpler when you get the new TV - make sure it has at least 2 component inputs (one for DVR and a second for DVDr)

Where would the cable line go?

The cable from the wall stays connected to the DVR. You'll need a coax between the RF modulator and TV.

Thank you! I will give it a try tonight. I was getting a little worried, on the Scientific Atlanta site it says you cannot hook a dvdr up through the Explorer 8000

One thing you should know - with the above setup you'll have to have the DVDr on all the time to get video to the TV. As long as the video out on the DVR works - you can hook it up.

The note about not being able to hook it up maybe on input of the DVR - which may be true.
