Does AVS sell lamps?

I know there had been some discussion of being able to (with previous projectors), being able to source just the lamp itself, and re-using the housing/reflector assembly, provided it had not cracked from heat, etc... any thoughts if this is possible with the Pearl's lamp?

Incidentally, what happened to your lamp? My Pearl's is only <300 hours and so far so good.

Well, that's a good question. So far I've not yet removed it while I deal with Sony over the phone. They wanted me to reset the projector by removing power to it altogether for 2 minutes to see if that did anything.

It appears that their next step would be to have me send it to Laredo. I'm not particularly fond of that idea if it's just the bulb, but as of yet I can't categorically state it's not something like a power supply problem, etc...

As the reset indeed did nothing to improve the situation, I will take the bulb out and examine it, and if it appears I can state to them the bulb is bad then I'd likely not opt to send it in. If they refuse to send me another bulb, I may bite the bullet and just buy one.
