Is there a difference between the colorimeters sold with SpyderTV, SpyderTV Pro (pre 2007 edition) and the SPyder2Express?

I have the SpyderTV Pro, but broke the colorimeter beyond repair. Can I just get the much cheaper Spyder2Express and use that colorimeter with the more expensive SpyderTV Pro software?

I know that the units are the same, but I remember reading that the software will lock out some serial numbers. So a spyder2express unit may or may not work as a replacement for spyderTV software.

Someone can back me up on this.
