hi,

so iv nearly fixed all problems, last one (i hope).

i have my sony vph1031qm connected to my pc via compnent cables. cause its doing the YPbPr thing only green is working.

does anyone know how to get the nvidia card to output rgb instead of YPbPr over the three cables?

im trying powerstrip but i cant find the correct controls...

...why would you want to do this?

I would suspect it is because there is no component in on the projector.

By the way I would also be interested in knowing the answer.
The manual for my motherboard with nvidia video on it just says you can do it.
there is nothing about how to do it.

why not just output vga to 5 bnc and connect the rgbhv directly instead of what you're doing? Even if you could output RGB, what about the sync signals?

i dont have rgbhv inputs, only scart works properly so im using a component to scart adapter i was thinking of getting a vga to scart but i live in aus and id probly have to get one from overseas, plus im using all otther ports for monitors

Does SCART support anything other than 480i? If not, you're going to have problems.

If it does you'll need to output composite sync (sometimes called sync on green, I think).

This doesn't sound promising though. Is the RGBHV input broken?

its a european model, so it only has scart and bnc. no rgbhv. the colorboard i think is stuffed cause when you plug in composite to the bnc in its black and white only. scrat can take pretty much any signal thats not digial.

i tried a media player that outputs rgb over component and the colors were fine but it was overscanning like crazy, although it does work for a few seconds at a time... mabye lack of sync info. im about to try composite to scart and see what happens

tried composite to scart, no signal :-(

now im stuck :-(

vga -> scart custom made cable could work.

You need composite sync to scart pinn 20, so you need to combine H and V syncs...

Usually RGBHV uses BNC connectors...

So it doesn't have ANY rgb inputs? That's really weird. Is this a data grade projector?

the rgb inputs are scart and a 9pin sony one for i think old ega computers.

Ile, so your certain it needs composite sync? if i know exactly what it needs that really helps. yeah the last chance is vga to scart, i just need to know for sure what to do with the sync... if i do need to combine them how do i acomplish that?

Your video card may allow you to output composite sync (or sync on green). Powerstrip should let you do that.

Scart connector is actually specsed only for 480i/576i signals, but in 1031 it also takes progressive signals. Be careful not to use too high resolutions, I think 1031 don't have any exceeding circuitry for too high horizontal frequency.
