I am looking at a Premier Acoustic PA-8F Home Theater System as a possible purchase. I was wondering if anyone has heard of their setup or of their company? The specs look pretty good to me, but I just have never heard of them, and I don't want to buy something thats going to sound ok and not really good.

I am planning on getting these or maybe the Klipsch RF 5 setup for my theater. I already know the RF 5 setup sounds really good. Its also 2 times the price. Any input would be very helpful on sound quality, quality of the speakers (Premier Acoustic) etc etc.

Side note: I probably will buy all the speakers except the sub. I already have a Velodyne DPS 12.

Go to Sounddistributors and do a search for the speakers. The website won't let me put up the link.

I am suspicious of any brand that can be readily purchased for half of MSRP from the get-go.

They look to be another KLIPSCH "me too" clone (like BIC Acoustec) Kal. MSRP is $899 for the set

http://www.soundpros.com/premier_acoustic.cfm

To the OP.... you tend to get what you pay for. And, printed specs from a manufacturer are pretty worthless. Even if they are spot on accurate, I've yet to hear a spec sheet produce any sound. What may look good on paper, may sound like crapola once it gets home.

Why not find out about an audition or return policy? If there is one, order a pair of the mains and try them in your home, on your gear to determine if they sound good to you. If they turn out to be junk to your ears, all you will be out is a little shipping and your time. Certainly worth the small investment to be sure don't you think?

Maybe I will talk to them about an audition or something like that. I also have a really good deal on some klipsch RF 3 speakers I am waiting on.

Just google the name of their set of speakers and you'll find information including a thread at HTF about the speakers and the possibility of company trolls posting positive reviews.

If you like the KLIPSCH sound and can get them reasonably close to your budget.... that's the way to go IMHO. Otherwise, you will always wonder, what if?

Edit: LOL.... after posting this reply, and reading it.... you could always wonder "what if" on if the PA's sounded as good as the KLIPSCH for less money. That's why it's always a good idea to audition as much as possible. Preferably in your home, on your gear. That eliminates all of the second guessing after the purchase.

I've never heard of the other brand. i have Klipsch in my basement and they are great, but i can't agree with this statement:

"Klipsch..... They just are the best. Don't go for anything else"

Ok. So I guess thinking about this all I will probably just go for Klipsch. I have always liked klipsch. I have a quintet klipsch in my room, but I need to upgrade it because the sub just drowns all the rest of the speakers.

One thing to keep in mind with "have any of you ever heard of these speakers" speakers is that if you ever want to sell them, you might not be able to get much for them.

I saw them (PA) a few months ago when I started looking for speakers....
There is a ton of info in various forums, most threads seem to be started by someone that was somehow associated with the company or dealer. But in the end, they all seem to come down to "you get what you pay for." Seems the general consensus was that for the same money the BICs are a better buy....several people have them and are happy with them....For me, I stepped up my budget a little.
I do like the Klipsch, just a little too bright for me.

Did you get them from a blue van or a white one?
