I have two Front left and right AR 312 HO towers that have side firing 12" speakers (along with the the 3 smaller front firing ones). These are somewhat older models and discontinued, however I have been told that they are still considered fairly high quality speakers. They sound fine to me... Anyways, I have them bi-wired to a Marantz ZR 6001 receiver and the speaker set to large and "both" meaning the bass signals are sent to both the front and left speakers as well as the subwoofer. The side 12" speakers on the AR's put out some very nice bass. I plan on putting a new front firing sub next to the right AR next to the side speaker. The crossover on the receiver is set to 80 hz. I am wondering how this setup will interact given the two bass speakers (the AR and the sub) being located like this. Is anyone familiar with these AR's and how this might work? I am sort of limited with respect to placing the sub due to room setupup.
