Jerry Gardner 04-11-07, 02:15 PM No current HD-DVD players can output 1080p24. welwynnick 04-11-07, 02:36 PM Not quite. The LG BH100 can output 1080p24 by direct decoding. Nick Jerry Gardner 04-11-07, 02:49 PM Not quite. The LG BH100 can output 1080p24 by direct decoding. Yeah, but the LG is not a "real" HD-DVD player. :D Yvonne A. 04-11-07, 09:21 PM A video processor such as the Lumagen or the Crystalio will convert 1080i and output 1080P24. Works great They also take 108024 from the Sony Blue Ray player and can convert it back to output 1080P. Forceflow 04-11-07, 10:00 PM No current HD-DVD players can output 1080p24. Not quite true. A HTPC solution will output 1080p24. Additionally, HD DVD players can output 1080i60 which, when converted properly, will result in 1080p24 (as mentioned above, Pearl displays at 96hz). The Pearl can IVTC well and would match up well at 96hz with either an HD DVD player or a BD player that can natively do 1080p24 (BDs lack the flags that HD DVDs do so the Pearl cannot reconstruct the 1080p24 from a 1080i/p60 output). |
