I'll be connecting my Toshiba HD-XA2 to my JVC SX21 (at least until my RS-1 arrives :) ).
The SX21 has DVI and component inputs, but not HDMI.
The HD-XA2 has HDMI and component outputs.
What's the best way to connect them for the best picture?
Any help appreciated. (And crossposted in HD-DVD Players forum).
Best,
Tom

Since it is temporary, I would run component. No need to spring for an HDMI to DVI cable or adapter.
Thanks, adidadi. That makes sense.
But if I wanted to run HDMI out of the XA2 to the DVI of the SX21, would it (cable or adapter) work?
I ask because, if I recall, the SX21 is not HDCP. I've been out of the loop on these things, but wouldn't that preclude connecting via the HDMI out on the XA2?
Thanks,
Tom

You are correct. If you're sending an HDCP signal to a non-HDCP device you will not get an image as the display device won't be able to decrypt the video signal. I second the suggestion of using component for the time being.
Thanks, TF Ghost. I appreciate the confirmation. :)
