I plan on covering my screen wall with black speaker cloth. On either side of the screen will be nice, stained columns hiding the front speakers. I plan to keep my ceiling white, but I'd like to have some black fabric right above the screen area, maybe 2 feet out from the wall. I'm trying to envision how best to do this. How can I make the transition between black fabric and white ceiling look respectable? Has anyone else tackled this issue? Thanks in advance.

Here is the panel on the ceiling in it's raw form. It got stuffed with 2 inches of Linacoustic and wrapped in black GOM. It's attached to the ceiling with a couple of screws through the framing for the false wall and into the backedge of the panel along with Loctite quick grab construction adhesion on ALL of the wood frame members. I wedged about 6 2x2's between the floor and the panel overnight and it's been there 2 years without any problems.

Wow, that's a great look. How were you able to bend the curved piece like that without having it snap? Was there any special trick involved?
I was actually thinking of just cutting a curve into a thick piece of plywood and securing that to the ceiling and wrapping it with fabric. How did you secure the fabric to the piece without showing any fasteners?

Thanks, Art. I can't believe it tomorrow I get the carpet in and I'm already on my third bulb in my Optoma H79. Some pigs you don't want to eat all at once.
As for the attaching the fabric. I laid it out flat, set the frame and insulation assembly on top, pulled the fabric up and fastened (stapled)on the side of the frame facing the ceiling. Then I glued the beast to the ceiling and added a couple of screws on the back edge from the back of the two vertical support studs holding up the screen. So all you see is the black fabric no fasteners.
One other detail, to add a little more support in holding up the insulation I ran some strips of black gaffers tape across the open sections of the frame and stapled in place.
As for the that front board bend, that front piece is two layers of PVC composite lumber. Did the same on that stage step. Two layers 3/4 inch each. You need to be aware that when you do the bend it has a tendency to bend back the rest of the assembly.
