Does anyone know whether there is any chance to get them to lower the price a bit ?

I could get the camera at PCRichard for basically $200 less than B&H, but I would like to go to B&H to get a bunch of accessories (lens, extra battery, charger...) which I doubt places like PCrichard would have.

You might ask them if they will match an online price. BB and CC by will only match a price on paper.

Also, B&H says "Accepting Orders" and PC Richard has it in stock at some stores. The one by me had one left, after I bought mine, on Wednesday evening.

Why not buy the camera at PC Richard and get your accessories elsewhere? $200 is a lot of money to save and will go a long way towards accessories.

ooops, thx CJ. I had not checked yet and if it is not in stock at B&H then forget it. Plus you are right, I should just get it at PCR and go to B&H for the rest. I was in a way trying to do all in one, plus at B&H, if you get the right person, they can give you some good advice on some stuff.

Oh well, lets find out if there is a PCR around my office ...

Called 3 stores (PC Richard) in manhattan and only the third had 2 left (86th st). I reserved it on the phone (did not want to risk going there for nothing) and had it ready to pick up. I was in and out in 2 minutes. THat's how I like to shop !!!

For the record -- we'll consider a price match inquiry on an item-by-item basis if we know the particular item, the other store's price and which other store. If the question says, "I found it for $xx cheaper somewhere," our reply is going to be, "Which somewhere in particular?" Then we consider a host of factors, but particularly the other store's reputation and the total out-the-door price.

It's also worth knowing that we'll ckeck out the other retailer in Resellerratings and Shopzilla among other places so you might as well check yourself first.

B&H did not have it in stock, hence the question was easily resolved. Actually incredibly easily as posted above.

For the record, I paid $150 less than B&H (official prices at both stores). I am not a huge bargain hunter myself, but that is a big difference, even considering that I am certainly willing to pay a higher price for service, product availability and variety of accessories etc etc.
