I have a Motorola 6412 outputing component to an CRT RPTV HD fully integrated.
The picture quality is outstanding.
However, if I buy a movie on channel 1 the PQ is horrible. Somtimes, I would say unwatchable. Better off to take the few minutes to drive to the DVD rental store.
I moved 1 year ago from a place that also had Cox cable, but was using SA 3200HD explorer. I actually had the same exact results (and at that time blamed the box).
Now that I have the Motorola head end and the PQ results are the same, I am wondering if it is something to do with Cox in general. Are they not understanding how to implement VOD systems? Did they cut the bit rate below acceptable levels?
Does anyone else see channel 1 as horrible, if not what do you suggest to fix it?
FYI - I am using the 1080i wide expand setting. Normal 480i channels look very good.
