Is the new Aqua Teen Colon Movie the first movie to be released from First Look Pictures into theaters? I only know this name from numerous DVD releases. Well it should look good when it comes out on HD DVD.

Don't know but I can't wait to see it. I haven't been as pumped about an animated movie since South Park. Well, unless you can count puppets, in which World Police was the last. :p

.........and it was awesome! Fans of the show should not be dissapointed. The opening scene alone was worth the ticket price. Cant wait for the HDDVD

ATHF is their first huge theatrical release, all of their other theatrical releases were very small.

I don't know if I'm going to get to this one in the theaters (likely not), but this is an immediate blind buy for me on HD DVD.

Since it's ultimately loosely affiliated with Turner and most Turner stuff being distributed by and/or released through Warner Bros., i'll take a big guess and say that the Aqua Teen movie wil either ship on HD DVD first or be released on HD DVD/BRD at the same time.I seriously doubt it will end up being a BRD exclusive.

It all depends on what the distribution contracts say. Who distributes it on home video? The owner of the show: Turner (Warner) or the theatrical distributor: First Look?

Either way, this won't be a BD exclusive. It'll either be HD exclusive or format-neutral.

Any news on ATHF the movie? Yesterday I saw an add for the DVD on the Cartoon Network, but no mention of HD-DVD.

My company did the Film out-put for this movie. At the time they had no plans for HD DVD or BD.

The Film was rendered at 1080p though.

Hmm, I guess I won't buy the DVD if they are just holding out on the HD-DVD version.

Like I said, they had no plans for a Hi-def release.
the only reason it was made at 1080 was so It could go to film, and it had to be upscaled from that a bit.
