Capcom is dusting off two of their classics and “remixing” Super Street Fighter II and Super Puzzle Fighter II. Both titles will be digitally distributed over Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix downloads Capcom’s incredibly popular puzzle game into the new generation. This fall, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo comes to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PLAYSTATION® Network and PC in its greatest incarnation to date. The new version of the game features newly created 1080p HD graphics, several new game modes, improved game balance, new stage backgrounds courtesy of Udon Entertainment and online play.

The Capcom arcade classic receives a whole new look as Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix comes to both the, PLAYSTATION® Network and Xbox LIVE this fall. Capcom will maintain the integrity of the popular game by utilizing the original game code while upgrading the graphics with new artwork and high resolution 1080p images. Again, all of the art, from character animation to stage backgrounds, will be completely redrawn by Udon Entertainment, the company responsible for the official US Street Fighter series of comics. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will include both online and offline competition for one to two players.

New stage backgrounds and online play for Puzzle Fighter? Sounds good to me! The "new” art that Udon Entertainment is going to add to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix sounds interesting. I wonder if they’re going to look like this.

Capcom is also developing two new licensed games for Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, is based off of WizKid’s strategy game and it is an arcade shooter where up to four players can cooperate to save the Solar System. Talisman is an online version of Game Workshop’s game, where players explore dungeons in a fantasy world and cast spells with up to four players online or offline. Talisman is scheduled to come out in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Ryu will be ready later this fall!!!!!

YES. I've always said that puzzle fighter would sell like hotcakes online. I don't care how much this costs, I'm buying it. Prepare to be crushed.

Agreed. Super Puzzle Fighter 2 is a classic. At one point I owned a Saturn soley to play that game.

Man, this is a GOOD new. To be honest, I will buy PS3 b/c of Street Fighter II online, SF II is a BIG HIT in 90s and every gamer around 30s must play this game before.
Hopfully I am able to find some good players online to match my skill...

Cool games.
But they suck big time online. Lag is a killer for fighting games.

I've been playing Mortal Kombat II online for a couple of days, and the lag isn't too bad. I've had a couple of matches slow down for a few seconds, but nothing that kills the game experience. I'll be lining up for SFII!

Now why couldn't they do same prep work in the resolution departmen for MKII????? not that 1080p flag crap :( it totally looks blocky.

Hats off to Capcom for treating a "gem" like a gem. :)

Note that this is Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, and not Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

That sucks.
Hyper Fighting was my game of choice until Alpha 3 came out.

It should still be fun, and I should be able to beat all of you. :)

Capcom said no LP for PS3 last month when it was rumored for P3/PC. Those without 360's will probably have to wait for the inevitable LPII

Yup, but Capcom has quite the history of saying things and changing plans later. So I personally don't rule anything out, of course I wouldn't count on it either. Other "exclusive" games have made it to the PS or are on their way already.

cause its 5 dollars. If SFII HD edition comes out at 5$, then everyone has a right to complain.

It'd be a lot harder to convert MKII to HD than Street Fighter. With MK, they would have to re-film and digitize actors. For SF, all they do is hire a company to re-draw all the art. I would've loved to have seen MKII in HD as well, but can see why they didn't bother.

Actually I was wondering this..... I'm 99.999% sure Midway has the original higher resolution shots for everything in the game. How crazy would that be if they redid it with the higher resolution shots? That would be awesome.
