Hi,
I currently have a KDL-40xbr2 in my room and I love it, but now I am looking for 2 more LCD's (40" to 46") for just TV watching, majority non-hd satellite. I don't need the extra inputs or HDMI for these units.
Would an EDTV be the best solution for this? Or should i just buy an HDTV and future proof it a little?
Is LCD or Plasma preferred for non-hd viewing?
I am going to wallmount both.

I need some input and maybe some model #'s i can take a look at and research into.

Thank You.

Is LCD or Plasma preferred for non-hd viewing? I'm pretty sure there are no EDTV LCDs larger than 20" so any 40" + LCD would be HD automatically.

But non-HD programming over satellite will look better on an ED or HD Plasma than it would on even the best LCD TV so if you don't have any issues with direct sunlight/reflectivity in the room(s) then i think a good plasma would be the better choice. Panasonic discontinued their ED consumer models and if any of the lesser brands still make ED Plasmas then they're probably not very good anyway so you may as well look at the better HD Plasmas like the Pioneer PDP-4270HD for instance. It's regarded as having virtually the best SD performance, and it has two good stretch modes for SD too. The new Panasonic TH-PX4277U would be my second choice, or maybe the lower-end PX4275U for a few hundred less.
