Hi All:

I have the Canon HV10 which shoots amazing HD video. I import into my MacBook using iMovieHD (as 1080i movie) and it still looks great. But then when I burn a DVD using iDVD the video looks like crap. I realize that iDVD is downgrading to SD, but the final result still looks much worse than a regular DVD. (ie I usually can't tell the difference on my 42" plasma between regular DVDs and the HD channels, but this DVD looks like crap just on my computer screen) Am I doing something wrong? What's the best way make good looking SD DVDs out of an HD iMovie?

TIA!

The SD DVD I make out of HV10's HDV certainly looks almost HD on an HDTV set. So it's definately capable of achieving the same PQ as that of commercial DVDs. I use Vegas 7 to render HDV onto SD DVDs on a PC. I am not familiar with Mac or iDVD.

Thanks - I watched it on my plasma and it actually doesn't look terrible, but there's a kind of jittery quality not there in the original. I guess will investigate what other Mac solutions are out there.
