bah, cant post ebay link, its item # 160100541090
Wow! Only going for $400 shipped for a video-only fossil! Don't everyone rush to the bay all at once to bid on it! The doobage the seller is smoking thinking that will get a bid is clearly some good stuff. From the auction...
"Electrosonic's ProCube AC represents the newest and best in large screen rear projection video display technology. Advanced CRT projection and black-stripe screen techniques are combined in an easy to use, high performance video cube framework."
Yeah, newest and best in large screen rear projection of what decade?
"The ProCube occupies minimum floor area and can be stacked up to twenty units (more than 40') high! No spacers or shims are required for stacking. Side and top grips allow the ProCube to be moved and positioned quickly, and pins are used to lock individual units together. The picture-topicture gap has been minimized and appears even smaller with ProCube's translucent lens edge extrusion."
While I cannot be sure, my theory is that this design was the result of extensive research done in outer space.
"Conveniently placed on-board controls provide accurate adjustment of contrast, brightness, color, and convergence control. Switch adjustment of color temperature makes adaptation to daylight or TV studio conditions straightforward and simple."
Remote controls are very inconvenient. They take batteries and batteries will eventually wear out and need to be replaced, requiring disassembly of the remote control device.
It looks like it was retubed on "10-20-04". I'm assuming that's 1904.

That's actually a Zenith PRO 851 chassis with the new style focus block. Would be a great parts unit for someone local to them if local pickup is allowed. I'd actually be intersted in buying 3-4 of these if someone is willing to strip them down and send me the tubes/parts only.
So there!
:D
