Hello. I moved into a new home that was pre-wired for a projector/speakers. For the projector, they ran 3 cat5e wires (not shielded) and 1 coax cable. I looked into snaking an hdmi cable through, but the snake job is way beyond my skills.

So, if I am going to use the wiring that is already in place, what is the best use of these wires to get quality video to my projector?

thank you in advance, david

I've never seen an alternative on the forum & I've been surfing around here for years.

If you don't want to hire an electrician there are several brands of cable trays that surface mount to your walls/ceiling available @ lowes or your local electrical supply house. While not as nice as built in, better than wires all over the place.

Good Luck!

You can use baluns to move various signals over CAT5 cable. These will do component video:

Others can do VGA or HDMI:
