I have a Sony 1252 projector with component card displaying 480p from a DVD player and 1080i from Time Warner Box.

The "brightness" levels between the two sources are huge.

I have to run about (brightness) 35 with DVD and 65 with HD.

I have not been successful at saving different values for each source. If someone knows how to do this please let me know. It is frustrating to have to change the calibration every time I switch sources.

Also it seems as though the two sources have the same memory block (#4) when viewing the page that gives the syn., hor., ver., information for the source. Is this weird?

Have you adjusted contrast on both sources as well?

My DVD player has the ability to adjust contrast but in very rough increments and the cable box has no (at least that I can find) video adjustments.

I have also set the DVD to "light" instead of dark. This seems to be controlling the level of black (wrong definition).

Is it possible to adjust each source independently and save them in the projector's memory (note: 1252 projector)?

The contrast and all other video adjustments (brightness, contrast, tint, color, sharpness, etc.) seem to be global.

Is it an IFB-12 card? If so.. you may never get 1080i to display correctly through it(GREEN push.. also looks like low brightness.) These cards are very source-picky above 480p unfortunately..

Best thing you can do is pick up a component to RGB transcoder.

Does the 1252 have two input slots?

Sounds like you need to set the "5 BNC switch" and access the memory buttons on the remote. Gives you 8 (?) memories per scan block.
