I will be viewing a laminate screen from 10 feet using a Mitsubishi HD1000
I don't know whether I should have an 80" or 85" diagonal screen. I want a big picture...but not an overwhelming (WAF). Is 85" a lot of difference than the 80" at that viewing distance?
Thanks for any comments

It might depend on who you ask. In my opinion, 85" isn't very big at 10'. In my theater the nearest seats are about 10-11' and my screen will be over 100". You might want to post this or check out what they say over in the screens section of the forum.

I think you will get quite different opinions on this.
There certainly are some specific recommendations depending on which type of projector you are using. I think I recall that projector is a dlp with dark chip 2 and fairly bright. Make sure the advice you get takes this into account. Also, how effective is light control in the room?
Personally, I think allot of it comes down to personal preference. Do you have friends with different screen sizes that you can actually watch for a while?

Great point on the brightness, I never considered that an issue.
I sat 14' from an Infocus Screenplay 4805, DLP, and it was too bright at times.
It hurt my eyes like headlights on approaching cars at night !
And lowering the brightness, lost all detail in blacks.
I'm on the LCD wagon in 100% light control, Sanyo Z5/Panny.
Size depends on what you're watching....Movies, HD content, bigger is better, watching sitcoms, news, big may look odd.
