For the past few months I have been remodeling my basement and in the process debating on what components to use in a theater that I’m building. I have incorporated 7.1 in wall wiring as well as a HDMI wall outlet for a front projector. Almost finished with the dry wall, I plan on ordering the hardware soon. Budget is 10k. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or recommendations and if I need to update and firmware or software (like the PS3 for DTS-MA/HD) for the components to work properly. Thanks.
A/V receiver - Onkyo TX-SR605 - 805 (unsure)
Projector - Epson power elite pro 1080
Speakers – AV123 – L/R x-mtm, Center x-cs, surrounds xls, x-sub
Blue ray player- PS3 (60gb) or wait for Sony BDP-S300
Screen- Carada Criterion 102” white
Comcast Cable HD
xbox and xbox 360.
The theater room is in a basement so I have complete control of the lighting (recessed). The entire room is 35' x 16'. However the theater area will be confined to an area of 16 x 16' (the other half will be a poker/pool table area). The walls will be painted gray and the flooring will be red carpet. The back wall opposite the screen area is completely tiled with black quartz galaxy Zodiac surrounding a fire place. I have attached pics. The area where the screen will mount (between the dry walled ducts/sofits) is 100" wide x 88" high. I plan on mounting the projector 13 feet from the screen, and the seating area will be 11' from screen. Thanks.
