About a year and a half ago, I bought what I thought was a Velodyne SPL-800 MKII to replace my aging F1200 Velydyne. The Sound Advice (Tweeter) Store in my area was going out of business and I couldn’t beat the price; $499. I have been very happy with this sub, but the other day was cleaning it and doing some tweaks and noticed the model number on the bottom is something along the lines of SPL1086II, or something. The first five characters are SPL10xxx.
What is the model number designations on these speakers, and is it possible the salesman made a mistake and sold me an SPL-10?
Also, for anyone else who has this or similar subs. How harmful or will it shorten the speakers life span to leave it on all the time, instead of using input sensing? My sub cuts off way to often when I am watching a show or movie and there isn’t much bass content when I switch it to inpuut sensing. Obviously it isn’t important when watching the evening news, but it gets distracting to hear the pop, which denotes it going to sleep. If I left it in on position all the time, would this be bad, or kill it prematurely?
