I have a D*TV H10 that I have plugged into my HDMI port on my Sony Wega HDTV set (KDF-42WE655). I also have a Denon AV reciever connected via an optical cable for Dolby Digital Audio fom HDTV sources.

My problem is that I cannot set the H10 reciver to send DD for the optical cable to the audio reciever and still get analog audio sent to my TV (when I decide not to use the Audio reciever). I can either turn DD off or set it to PCM; but I can not get it to transmit to the TV thru the Digital setting.

I have tried using the composite analog RCA attached and I cannot get audio from the HDMI or RCA. IS this normal or is there a way to achieve audio sent to the TV and digital to my home theater reciever?

Thanks in advance.

Your TV is most likely the culprit, most sets can't handle more then two channels of audio over the HDMI connection, the TV makers figure there's only two speakers, why put in an HDMI chip that can handle more. You probably can't use the RCA connectors because the HDMI audio is overriding them. Only real solution I can think of is use component connections for the video and analog for the audio.

Thanks for the help. I figured that may have been the case.
