So I work for Best Buy and obviously get a great deal on certain things - namely speakers. After recently comparing the JBL Venue series speakers (Stadiums) to our Klipsch Synergy offering (F-3's), I'm severely inclined to go with the JBL's because of the 3-way's impact on listening to music. I don't know everything, but I also do know that a horned tweeter speaker for $400 is not a real horned tweeter. I don't think anyone's changing my mind on the JBL's.
My problem is, I don't really like how the JBL Sub10 or Sub12 sounds, and I love the Klipsch Sub-10 & Sub-12. I think it's because I like the sound and feel of a downward-firing sub, but some people say that's irrelevant. I just think that Klipsch subs are better for creating the ambient feeling of scenes in movies, where I neither hear that or feel it with the JBL subs.
My question is, if I pair one of the Klipsch subs with the Venue series speakers, will the different manufacturers' differences in sound stand out? Will they pair nicely? Or is it just simply my personal preference? For aesthetic reasons, I'd like to go with the JBL's, but I can't quite seem to get out of them what the Klipsch gives me.
Any thoughts, opinions, or advice?
