View Full Version : Here comes Intel in 2008? maximus2323 04-17-07, 11:02 AM http://www.macnn.com/blogs/?p=285 -Max InfernoSoul 04-17-07, 12:28 PM http://www.macnn.com/blogs/?p=285 -Max First off there is already a blu ray readable and writable drive along with toast which can burn blu rays. Second blu ray is already supported/built in with Leopard. Unless Leopard is delayed beyond fall '07 then we won't see blu ray full support until 08. I am not a programmer but I think that thrid party developers might be able to allow blu ray reading on Tiger. Not postive someone correct me if I am wrong. http://www.burnworld.net/0664/looks-like-mac-osx-105-leopard-will-support-blu-ray-and-hd-dvd/ http://www.macrumors.com/2007/01/18/mac-os-x-leopard-with-major-dvd-player-upgrade/ http://www.mcetech.com/blu-ray/ http://fastmac.com/slim_bluray.php Craig F 04-17-07, 03:19 PM I don't see what intel has to do with it. If you have a BD drive and a GPU that can keep up, you can do Blu-ray. Only systems that use intel's crappy integrated graphics ie Mac Mini, would be affected. UMD_Terp 04-17-07, 04:04 PM MacBook Pro uses a ATI based graphics chipset... The regular Macbook uses integrated graphics. Craig F 04-17-07, 04:16 PM Don't the Macbooks and Macbook pro's both use intel integrated graphics? (gma900?) I didn't mean to imply only the mini used the intel integrated graphics. The Macbook does as well, but as UMD_Terp says, the Macbook Pro uses ATI. iMacs use ATI or Nvidia. |
