View Full Version : How did you attach your batting and Insulshield to the wall? Adam_G 04-17-07, 06:32 PM Do you staple, glue or ?? the batting and Insulshield to the drywall? judsonp 04-17-07, 08:22 PM From what I have read most use roofing nails with the plastic discs on the ends, 3M adhesive, or a combination. As for the batting, it depends on the thickness. I haven't seen so someone else will have to chime in. DKaps 04-17-07, 09:00 PM Drywall screws for the Insulshield and staples for the batting. Dan jspielmann 04-17-07, 11:17 PM Used the 3" roofing nails with the discs on both. Worked fine. Toxarch 04-18-07, 02:52 AM The insulshield will friction fit if you cut it like that. You can use a couple of staples to keep it there. It just needs to be held up until the fabric goes up. Spray adhesive and roofing nails in the insulshield just make it take longer to put up. For the batting, I also used a stapler. A few staples sread around and you are all good. Insulation stapler or pneumatic stapler works fine. Video 04-18-07, 05:58 AM I used spray glue. I coat on the wall and a coat on the insulsheild and it holds very well. Available at any home depot, lowes etc. Made by 3m. scaesare 04-18-07, 11:39 AM Popped some staples in to hold them up while I stretched the fabric over. Not going anywhere after they are captured by the frames & fabric. In the pic below, I pulled the "puckers" the staples out just prior to stretching the fabric: http://caesare.homeip.net:32171/basement/slides/IMG_1894.jpg More pics here (http://caesare.homeip.net:32171/basement/slides/IMG_1894.htm) Adam_G 04-18-07, 12:23 PM Thanks for the info. |
