I have a ps2 v15 (I believe) w/ Samsung LCD LN-S3238D

The problem I'm having with games like Resident Evil 4 or Shadow of a Collosus, is that I can't get it to display 480p correctly, it distorts.. which I assume is a far sharper better image

I have tried the following
- Replacement of A/V Cables (on 2 brand new sets now)
- Messing with PS2 settings like 16:9 and color (appearantly this doesn't make much of a difference)
- Calling Tech Support (there researching; I'm not going to hold my breath)
- Trying to get a DVD to play at 480p (only with PS2) tried V for Vendetta but TV showed 480i
- Using the feature "Game Mode" which just seems to mess with the colors..

The only thing I haven't tried.. is maybe getting a external DVD player (don't have one..) hooking it up.. and seeing if DVD's hit 480p.. with it.. (this was suggested by samsung.. )

I would like to continue.. to use this HDTV/monitor because it has a high contrast ratio.. and I'm likely to have to go down.. if I go with something else.. :(

But I don't see how to save/keep using it.. if I'm sacrificing picture quality.. on games I want to play.. these games look okay.. without progressive.. but based on screenshots I've seen.. they should look a whole lot better..

(I guess since I'm new to the forum.. I can't post pictures.. which better describe the problem)
