In addion to cost, a plate amplifier, like the BASH 300 from PE, has the advantage of a rumble filter to protect the driver below its tuning frequency. Otherwise, I'd look for something like a used Marantz THX mono block on Ebay/Audiogon or the Outlaw 2200 M-block. There are a coule of NAD 2400THX amps on Ebay as well right now...I've been using one for 10+ years as my sub amp. -Brent |
