Time to buy a new set as my SD tv just encountered it's extremely timely demise :D
I came across the Philips 42PF5331 42" Plasma which meets my budget and seems to be pretty decent considering it's price. It supports both 1080i and 720P and has a contrast ratio of 3000:1.

I was wondering if I could get some educated answers as to if it is any good?

Get a 9631 from Sears or some other reputable place with a 3-year warranty. :)
