I just bought an LG 50PC5D plasma. It has only one RF input. I have both an off-air antenna (OTA) and a digital cable box. Currently, I have the the OTA hooked up to the one RF input and have the cable box hooked up via component cables. All works fine.
I disconnected the OTA and hooked up the cable line direct to the one RF input and my LG got all the digital cable channels. This is nice as I can return the cable box and stop paying the monthly rental fees. However, cable doesn't broadcast all the digital local channels that I was getting using the OTA.
I didn't think it was possible to use a diplexer to combine both the cable and OTA and hook it up to the one RF input on my TV. I've been told that the freqencies can overlap. However, the manual to my LG TV says I can use a diplexer to combine both OTA and cable. I would hate to damage my new TV in any way.
I have scanned the page in the manual that says this is allowable:

Is this possible? Has anyone tried hooking up OTA and digital cable to one input using a diplexer? I want to get both the off air digital channels and the cable digital channels.
Thanks,
Howard
