Hey guys,

I noticed why watching some movies and HD TV that my sub sometimes cuts in and out, like its turning on and off, usually during a dialog only show like HDNET news. It's a piece of sh_t Onkyo PS10 that I am going to upgrade soon and I have it dualed with an older JBL PSW-1000 (first sub I ever bought) thats an even bigger piece of ("you know what I mean"). Any ideas on why this is happening?

I have sub Xover cranked and Onkyo 803 set on 80htz

It probably has an auto on/off feature. The sub may turn on when the system first come on. Then, when it does not get a signal, for say, 10min, it turns itself off. I noticed my SubMersive does the same thing. It is a normal feature.

Sounds more like a fault to me. The auto-on should be designed to have enough sensitivity and turn off delay so that it remains on for the session. If it doesn't that's an issue.

You could try upping the signal sent to it in the receiver's menu(up a few db's) or sometimes a y-splitter at the sub helps feeding both inputs.

I never thought it was a fault. It did not ever bother me. I was merely trying to give one possible explanation.
