Can you help with a few questions? My room has changed it is now 12x16 with a 8.6 ceiling. I will have my back row of seats against wall at 16' with a 6' riser so my front row will be 10'. The back of my room at 16' I have my main support beam and main plumbing so the ceiling at that point will come down about 2'. IS it OK to have the builder make a box to put projector in. This would be about 16' from screen and about 2' above listening area since the back row is on a 9" riser.
Does this system work with Sharp 12000MK and what screen size and or screen should I look at? I am a complete novice to Home theater so I apologize if these questions are obvious

first row at 10ft? If you are watching all HD material (no standard DVD's) you may be able to get away with a 100" screen. But I would think with 2 rows and the first at 10' the 80 inch range would be more comfortable. I have a 12x15 room and a single seat at about 11 feet and with my 100" screen that is too close.
My other idea was to have a back row of actual movie theater seats that fold up. Than I could make riser 4' and 1st row would be at 12' which I think works better. I would like to get 3 Berkeley's for 1st row and than 4 very nice cushioned movie seats for back row which would view at about 16'
The viewing in this room would strictly be High Def as there are other areas for STD viewing.
Does anyone have a opinion of putting the projector in the soffet?(sp)
Your biggest concern with the projector in box or soffit is the heat it generates, and to some degree the noise that close to your seating. but the heat for sure, you will need to have your box or soffit ventilated at the very least, I acually have an exhaust fan over mine. A very very quiet one. the heat buildup can cause your projector to fail.
