remember 2 weeks ago best Buy had 20% speakers,so i picked up the Klipsch Sub 12 since my velodyne is tired @ 12 years old.
I put the klipsche in the same location as the velodyne wich is a corner at the rear of the room.
the klipsche definatly has more output above 35hz. So much so that it rattles my blinds over my windows. But on low tones near 20hz, the output is bareley there in both sound and feel. This may change if i rerun set up as the yamaha YPAo room eq my have adverse effects on a totally different sub.
the vleodyne "swells" the room on low frequencies then getts muddy...
The klipsch "hits hard" but has little to offer down low.
Overall, I think I would classify the velodyne as a softer more musical sub, versus a home theatre feel to the klipsch.
When I get my room ready (maybe 2 weeks) I may see if I can dial the 2 in to work together.
But all in all, i dont feel the klipsch was $425 wasted.
