I need to spec out a projector for a non-profit group I am doing work with. I'm looking for something that's $1000 shipped, about 2000 lums, can display HD via Component or HDCP DVI/HDMI, AND has a lens shift. So I'm thinking at that range I'll be getting XGA, MAYBE if I'm lucky a clearance WXGA.

I've found a number of PJs in that range with everything BUT the lens shift. This PJ will be used all over the place, and my experience is lens shift can really make a difference between a nice presentation, and something that looks really crappy.

The Sharp X10 is an excellent XGA machine that displays HD material beautifully out component jacks.

It has lens shift, sealed optics and it can be had for well under $1000.

The only projectors with lens shift in your price range are the Hitachi tx-100 and sanyo z4.

The sharp mentioned abouve does not have lens shift and there are better projectors without lens shift in your price range

Another vote for the Hitachi PJTX-100. Can be found at a lot of places for WELL under $1000. It has lens shift and is 720p.
