Hi. I know that minidv tapes are pretty good long-term storage, but I'd also like to make another backup to store at an off-site location. What are the methods for copying minidv-to-minidv (hdv)? Anyone with experience with this?

You just need 2 MiniDV camcorders and a 4-pin to 4-pin firewire cable. Play your tapes on one camcorder and record them on the other. Since this is a digital copy there should be no loss in quality to the copy.
