Not sure if this is the right place but as i couldn't find a place to ask for people opinions between LCD an plasma an my big want for the tv is for gaming this might be best.

I'am some what new to the world of HDTVs but have read quite a bit in the last weeks. An I think I have narrowed it down to this two. The LG 42LB5D 1080p LCD an the Sammy HP-T4254 Plasma 720p. I would set on the sammy but only 720p i worry about how good it will look compared to 1080p, but have worries about blur on the LCD. Any help in choosing the right one an is there others i should look deeper into. What do you use?

Main problem(not a probably to me but to my wife) 42in is alittle widier than the space i have to put it. The LG is like a 1/2 inch to wide but i can make it fit. Sammy alittle more but still could work with it to make it fit. A 37 or 40 would be great but just kind find any i like for the price.

LCDs are probably perferred for gaming, due to reduced burn-in risk. Resolution-wise, 720p is probably best right now, as it is the most common resolution for HD gaming, whether it be the 360 or PS3 -- not many games are in 1080p right now.

A Samsung display should be fine, but you might also consider a Sony or Sharp.

I would vote for plasma if you are responsiblewith it due to superior picture quality, no ghosting, and no gaming lag.

I was also wondering since the plasmas have a burn in issue if i go with it should i use the white wash an other anti burn in features something like every 3 to 4 hours of straight gaming?
