Noobe here with a question. I'm thinking of getting a Z5 to put in my basement. The room has a few windows but can be quite dark during the day. I'm considering a DA-LITE High Power 106" Designer Contour Electrol screen. The room is 16' wide, 17' long and the ceiling is 7'6" high. My thinking is that the PJ should be located on a shelf on the back wall just above head level. Would this be the best placement? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I will go as far as saying the Sanyo Z4/Z5 are the MOST Usable projectors for almost any situation. The lens shift works wonders and even though my Z4 isnt as "sharp" as a Good 720P DLP, it was the ONLY projector that worked in my situation.

How high you mount it will depend on how high the screen is. The default location (no lens shift) is with the lens positioned towards the center of the screen. However, just above head height would work the best for a Da-Lite High Power screen (it's retro-reflective and beams the most light back towards the PJ. From what you said, it should be just fine.
I have the 106" Da-Lite High Power screen (from AVS Sales - http://www.avscience.com/contact.htm) and my PJ (not a Z5) is about 3" above my head. It works great :D. That screen coupled with the Z5 should be great (and plenty bright - enough that you can have some room light on and still get a nice picture - lights not aimed at the screen). I'm contemplating getting a Z5, if the prices of 1080p PJs don't come down far enough by the time I need to upgrade.
