All suggestions are welcome, thanx Mitsubishi HD1000U or the Optoma HD70. If you want to know which is the better choice I can't tell you but look for my thread titled "HD1000U vs. HD70" and you'll get alot of peoples opinions on the two. eightninesuited 04-21-07, 12:11 AM Definately the HD1000u. rahimlee54 04-21-07, 01:44 AM Like everyone on this site says it depends on your room size, conditions, and where you want to put the pj, but one of the two aforemention projectors will fit the bill. If you can spring for 1300 you may want to wait on the new sony aw15 it looks pretty good but the reviews arent in yet. Star56 04-21-07, 04:37 AM I own the Sharp X10 and the Mits 1000U. Both look very good when mated to a Ps3. I give the nod to the Mits. I can use HDMI with 1080p. Produces a terrific scaled 720P output. But...if you had to go with the X10 you would not be disappointed. It is sharp, bright, has lens shift...sealed optics and killer XGA PQ. Gushy 04-21-07, 03:27 PM hd1000u. For gaming you want lumens. As a hardcore gamer I can assure you, LUMENS is what you need. The contrast and color on the hd1000u are more than adequate for gaming. I have two different presets on my hd1000u; one for movies/tv, and one for games. I've owned three different projectors and hands down more lumens makes it or breaks it in gaming. danieloneil01 04-21-07, 04:11 PM If he's going to be gaming which usually means alot of hours then get the HD70. Very cheap bulb compared to most PJ's and even the Mits.. Sdallnct 04-21-07, 05:47 PM I use the HD70 and very happy with it. Tho I didn't buy it specifically for the PS3, I knew I might get one. bkchurch 04-21-07, 06:16 PM hd1000u. For gaming you want lumens. As a hardcore gamer I can assure you, LUMENS is what you need. Well the HD70 is still a bright projector, if he has a reasonably dark room he should be fine, why exactly would he need the super-brightness of the Mits so much more for games? |
