not really interested in the game, but the screens look pretty good, and i'm all for more 1080p native games.

Those screens look like ass. Going 1080p means games will have fewer polys, fewer things onscreen, and fewer shader effects. I'll take 720p any day over this.

THIS looks like ass to you?

Actually they look like ****.

Yes.

BTW IGN's images usually look like crap because they probably **** with the screens. I imagine the game will look better than that.

IMO it's just another mediocre multiplat (360/ps3) game. Spend your $60 on soemthing a bit better.

Im not impressed with the above, NO!

you guys sure those are the 360/PS3 screens?

Because IGN has a habbit of showing the wrong screens most of the time.

Its not bad for a movie game....Even though there are better movie games out their...This one looks no better than a polished Xbox 1 game...I am sure it will look nice but considering its being released just to hype the movie makes it a no brainer not to buy the damn thing.

These types of titles are nothing more than a type of promotion and are just slapped together.

I'm no vid game expert, but has disney ever made a solid game? Some people are ok with dropping $$$ for "ok" games. IMO you'd be better using the $60 to buy the HD verison of Pirates I & II, then going to the theater for Pirates III. To each his/her own I guess.

If IGN rates this game above an 8.0, it may be an ok title to buy, but has disney ever made a game above 7.0? Some examples:

Meet the Robinsons 7.0 (xbox 360)
Novadrome 3.7 (xbox 360)
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas 6.0 (xbox)
Lumines Plus 7.0 (ps2)
Finding Nemo 7.0 (ps2)
Disney Golf 5.5 (ps2)

Point was that judging by who's developing the game, that it may not be as good as some of you may think. Anyways, please relax, no personal attack was intended....

On a side note, IGN just updated new info on the game.

Those do look kinda bad. Some of them remind me of Killer Instinct for whatever reason.

The screens at IGN are from the XBox 360 version.

I run a screenshot site and posted them up a while ago: http://www.thegamersgallery.com/image.php?sid=726

POTC review

Unfortunately, that's where the fun ends. The gameplay is a mix of mindless collecting, mindless combat with touches of simple platforming thrown in for good measure. A typical mission is Port Royal, where you run around the town trying to find Wanted posters of Will so you can rip them down. After finding the last poster, you'll have to fight through a handful of Redcoats by hitting the attack button over and over again. As you do so, Jack will start to parry with the enemy until the enemy is somehow stunned and inexplicably turns around and stares at the ground. At this time, Jack can finish him off by punching him in the back of the head or slicing him once more. This is fun for about the first four enemies and then you realize that this is the base of the entire combat system.

........

Shiver me timbers! The game's framey, the camera rarely shows what's going on, characters pass through closed doors like ghosts and if you're not holding down the sprint button, it feels like you're walking underwater. Sure, playing the kraken battle and other tiffs from the films are interesting, but the problems in the game mean you never feel like you're living the movie. Save your booty and set a course in the opposite direction of this title, blaggard.

Sounds great, it'll be $60 well spent! Damn them pessimists to hell! AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH

Anyone played this and Tomb Raider Legend? I was thinking of picking this up. I reminded me of TRL and that was pretty fun.
