I am now in the process of looking for a sub. My current set up is

TV: Panasonic 42px60u
Amp:Pioneer Elite VSX-80TXV
Front: Paradigm Monitor 9 v5
Center: Paradigm CC-290
Rear : Paradigm Monitor Atom v5

Room size is ruffly 15x15 with 8 foot ceilings. It opens up into a kitchen though. I live in a duplex, i ain't to worried about bothering the guy upstairs as he is the master of noise and it's sort of pay back :D . Sub will me used 75% HT 25% music... I really need help as this will be my first ever sub from a home. I Own an awesome CDT sub for my car, but this is the first time getting one for my home.. HELP PLZ. I was offered a Paradigm Ultracube 10 for 749cdn. Don't know if that would do the job though...

What's your budget?

i was offered a paradigm ultra cube 10 for 749$ cdn and the gf gave me the look. So i guess about 800$ cdn would be the budget give or take a little.

Most of the replies suggest that for that money you could easily get a much better sub from online dealers... Start looking at the brands suggested in your price range, and then use the search tool on this board to get ideas about those subs...

Just off hand I would look at HSU VTF-3 MK3 or MK2...Or SVS 16-46 PCi Cylinder or Axiom, or AV123

You will easily get more bang for you buck with an Internet Brand
