I wonder if I should buy an elite, trade in my "Core" system, keep my 20GB hard drive, and sell the 120GB hard drive on Ebay. I have a 2TB NAS, dont really need another 100GB on my Xbox.

CommanderCool 04-21-07, 11:27 PM umm idk if the 20gb would work it should though vancouver 04-21-07, 11:40 PM wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to just buy a black decal? Michael Mullis 04-21-07, 11:44 PM If you don't need the extra space if you're not downloading any movies or TV shows from marketplace, then that would be a decent way to recoup a little cost. Are you just getting the Elite for the HDMI? snickersbar 04-21-07, 11:59 PM If you don't need the extra space if you're not downloading any movies or TV shows from marketplace, then that would be a decent way to recoup a little cost. Are you just getting the Elite for the HDMI? I have a free 9GB which is plenty for one movie download. I use bit-torrent for TV Shows since the quality is better than ITMS and also the pricing is simplier. Not going to spend another $20 on 1600 MS points because I am 20 points short of a download that I can get for free... now if MS kept the high quality HD Downloads and let me use actual money instead of trying to rape me on buying extra fantasy currency with each purchase, then I would consider using it. But Really the 20GB should be sufficient for me. Have a 2TB NAS and the 360 has an ethernet port :) lacombo 04-22-07, 03:54 AM you totally missed that persons question; Are you just getting the Elite for the HDMI? elite doesnt come with a transfer cable so you're kind of stuck unless you know some hack. snickersbar 04-22-07, 09:51 AM you totally missed that persons question; Are you just getting the Elite for the HDMI? elite doesnt come with a transfer cable so you're kind of stuck unless you know some hack. Well as far as I know theres only 3 differences from the elite to the premium 1) LOL BLACK 2) 100GB more HDD 3) HDMI I dont care about black nor the HDD - the only other difference is HDMI SpartanTS 04-22-07, 10:40 AM Well as far as I know theres only 3 differences from the elite to the premium 1) LOL BLACK 2) 100GB more HDD 3) HDMI I dont care about black nor the HDD - the only other difference is HDMI Why would anyone care about buying the Elite if... 1 - You DO NOT have a 1080p HDTV 2- You Have VGA or are able to use VGA 3- You can wait for the update that'll allow you to adjust the colorspace with VGA 4- You don't care about having the larger HD sneals2000 04-22-07, 12:36 PM Why would anyone care about buying the Elite if... 1 - You DO NOT have a 1080p HDTV 2- You Have VGA or are able to use VGA 3- You can wait for the update that'll allow you to adjust the colorspace with VGA 4- You don't care about having the larger HD The HDMI connection route does seem to be clearer than component or VGA (even when the VGA levels are right and not 7.5IRE set-up) on many displays. I think the D/A and A/D conversion quantisation noise doesn't help. Even at SD and ED resolutions it is possible to see an improvement with HDMI over analogue RGB/Component interconnects on some displays. (And some TVs accept 1080p via HDMI but not via other input routes.) Michael Mullis 04-22-07, 12:53 PM I got what he was saying lacombo. And to an extent I'm with him. Alhough when I get my Elite I'm keeping the 120GB HD and since I've got 2 20GB HD's I'm keeping the one that has all my stuff on it until they come up with a transfer solution. But the 20GB HD is still perfectly fine for now. Microsoft has said they continue to concentrate on the 20. CommanderCool 04-22-07, 01:35 PM wait..i thought the elite comes with a transfer cable,so how am i gonna move stuff from my old hdd to the new one GR1MM 04-22-07, 02:06 PM wait..i thought the elite comes with a transfer cable,so how am i gonna move stuff from my old hdd to the new one your not... Microsoft sucks for not including a transfer cable with the Elite. longhorns 04-22-07, 02:25 PM I think it's sold separately, why else would they make you buy your elite, take it home, then bring back your premium with an elite receipt. I heard you can buy the cable, then transfer your data to your elite hdd after you buy it, then you can give your premium up. GR1MM 04-22-07, 02:27 PM The cable only comes with the 120gig hd . longhorns 04-22-07, 02:31 PM aaah thanks for the info. |
