Has anyone been able to get 720p/1080i via component between these 2?
I do not seem to be able to synch the signal using a Monster Cable component cable that I got many years ago for the PS2, which should be compatible with the PS3.
Thanks a lot for your assistance
So, has anybody ever used the X1 with a PS3 via component??

You cannot pass a progressive signal over component (nor HD 1080i) to the X1. You need to get a breakout cable ... one end will have a VGA connection and the other will have the component outs. Make your PS3 output 720p via the component cables, which will then go in to the VGA hookup of the X1.
A 5 BNC to VGA breakout will work as well, but then you will need 3 BNC to RCA adapter plugs.

This (http://www.superwarehouse.com/InFocus_Component_to_VESA_Adapter_for_X1_and_ScreenPlay_4800/SP-VESA-ADPT/p/255720) is what you are looking for:
Thanks. I have one of those which I have been using successfully with other sources.
I eventually figured out that the PS3 only accepts the native resolution for synching during the first setup (480p for the X1) and after that you can change it to 720p or 1080i. Now I can see BD at 720p/1080i via component.

Mizio, You said you have been using your PS2 and you X1 together in the past. Maybe you can help me to understand how you handled an issue I have found with my X1/PS2 setup.
The X1 accepts progressive only through the VGA input. Non-progressive is handled via the S-video and composite. PS2 progressive vs non-progressive is toggled via a setting in the menu. What I ran into is that the menus in my PS2 games did not come out progressive when the PS2 was set to progressive. So, when I have it set to progressive, I can see the actual game, but the menus do not register and the X1 goes blue.
Did you encounter this? How did you get around this?....or, is there something that I missed here?
I appreciate any input you have in advance.
I have a PS3 connected to my X1 and it looks awesome.
Just be sure the PS3 is set to pass only up to (and not including) 1080i, that is the max that the X1 will accept. Then, just hook your component cable to the "progressive" input (or computer in) on the X1.
I have the PS3 connected to an INDAY 4x1 component switcher, with HDMI audio feeding a Sony DG1000 receiver. Then a VGA RGB component cable to the projector (from the switcher).
Good luck!
That is also what I did, and it worked on my setup (I also have the Inday switcher).
Thanks

I remember having the same issue with the PS2 but honestly, I no longer remember how I handled that. I stopped using the PS2 on my X1 a while back since we got the XBox, and now after we got the PS3, my son gave the PS2 away to his friend!
An advice: get the PS3!! It is awesome.
Thanks
