hi i have bought a camcorder to record my family soccer games baseball birthday ect. first one to own.i wanted hd because i wanted beuatiful film.my question is now what , im reading on here about editing and such.what do i want to set this thing up to and how do i do editing?its gonna be mostly outside.i recorded twice once in hdv and once in hdv24.it seems to be blury and shaky in hdv24. is ther anything to do about being blurry when the kids are running?what should my settings be?

Don't record in 24p if you want silky smooth HD.

When you shoot, try setting the camcorder to shutter priority mode. This means that you get to set the shutter speed while the camcorder takes care of other settings. See what happens if you set it to 250, 500, or even 1000 (you're shooting outside in well-lit conditions, right?). This should reduce the blur you see.

Also, try using a tripod to reduce the amount of shake you see on the screen.
