I have an older Mitsubishi TV with only 1 Composite HDTV hookup. I just bought a DVD player that upconverts through composite cables.
So I bought a component video switcher. The DVD Player seems to work fine, but I am getting lines and interference when watching TV through my Comcast Motorola Box.
If I feed the cables straight from the TV to the Comcast box, everything works fine. When I connect it back to the switcher I get lines then video scrambles on occasion. It happens on both the non HD and HD channels.
Any ideas? Should I get another switcher? I tried different cables which didn't help. I moved the switcher away from the Comcast box and that didn't help.
Thanks

ThanksI'll assume you meant component instead of composite in your first sentence.
Have you tried swapping paths through the switch? This may help narrow the problem down to the comcast box or the switch. Is it a powered or manual switch? You might also try moving your cables away from any AC cords and one another. If there is poor shielding or continuity of shield within the switch, noise can be induced. Check that all of your connections are tight, secure and connected to the correct jacks.
Hi, I will try your different suggestions.
I did mean component thanks :). And the switch is a powered switch. So far I have made sure all the connections were tight, secure and connected to the correct jacks.
