Have been watching for a long time and have always noticed the weird lighting around the faces. It appears everyone has beards brushed on. Thought that when I got my new plasma that the images would clear up. Didn't happen. I finally mentioned to my wife last night that they sure use some weird camera lighting on that show. Watching the redhead was almost unwatchable it was so distorted. Anyone else notice a difference in NCIS versus other shows.

It is variable. During its earlier seasons everyone appeared with a very red face, then it seemed to have cleared up for a bit, now I've noticed that things are back to being very saturated.

The coloring certainly doesn't look very realistic.

I always thought the fleshtones were a bit muted/washed out but I've never noticed anything close to 'beards brushed on'. I didn't have an HD set back in '03/'04 season so I can't comment on people having red face. The biggest color distorter's has to be CSI: Miami and CSI: NY

The biggest problem I have with NCIS is Officer David. That is the worst Israeli accent I've ever heard. She's from South America for crying out loud.

Another bad accent is Suresh in Heroes. The guy sounds like he's from London not Chennai (Madras) India. Did this guy study in London or something, his bio says is from Chicago and went to Tufts and his family is from India not London. I know a few ABCD from Chicago and all of them sound like they're from the Midwest.

I sometimes don't get the casting of some people who have mediocre acting skills and whose accents don't match the character.

This week's episode (kidnapped baby) seemed softer than usual throughout--besides having that irksome too-red tint (mostly in interiors). Anyone have details whether they're filming this in 16mm? -- John

I would guess it's not 16mm (or super 16) as CBS is adamant against using it for HD.

I do not have your requested information. As far as I remember, this series has always had that 'red tint' to it.

There is another thread that serves as the native NCIS thread.
