$3,000 plasma television: hell yes!
$1,300 receiver and $2,000 worth of speakers: bring it on!
$500 HD DVD player: sign me up!
$28 combo HD DVD/DVD disc: What do I look like I'm made of money or what?
They are for people that need to play the movie on more than one display. Examples: Portable DVDplayers, In-car, kids room... My kids don't have a HDTV!

I like them for there flexability. Cost a little more, but shouldn't break the bank :D

Nobody is complaining that babel, dreamgirls, world trade center, Mi-3, even casino royale, night at the museum and that every other new release is $27 with combo's you pay $27 plus you get a free dvd version of the movie. What's the problem here?
Not sure but i would likely go with this as the problem. If these titles weren't combos they would be priced at $23.99 (or whatever).

I use to be an advocate for the HD DVD/DVD combo format, but it is about time that they were cut from production. Seriously it is costing HD DVD sales when a movie on both formats is announced and the HD DVD version is a combo. Just see The Departed, there are threads where dual format owners specifically state "I am getting the Blu-Ray version because the HD DVD is a combo". Same thing happened earlier today with The Fountain "Sign me up for the Blu-Ray version" says a dual format owner.

1. They are more expensive
2. People don't like flippers

It is time for the combo format to go.

Dreamgirls, WTC, and MI:III (I always like typing MI:III) are two disc sets, not flippers. If they were flippers there would of been a larger outcry.

A few people got upset that Babel is $27, including myself. However those are all Paramount prices, not the fault of the combo format.

For some it's more like this:

$3,000 plasma television: Ok, I can handle the payments
$1,300 receiver and $2,000 worth of speakers: Boy, this is gonna hurt but it's worth it
$299 HD DVD player: This is the time to jump in
$28 combo HD DVD/DVD disc: I bought all my stuff for high definition! Not a SD combo! Ugh.

If you dont like em then dont buy em simple as that, complaining here over and over and over and over and over again wont do anything........Voting with your wallet is the most effective mode of complaint periord....Personally I dont mind em I have a HD DVD in the living room and a DVD in the Bedroom this way I can watch the movie wherever I go.......
