I have sony fd trinitron wega model # kv-32hs500. from service menu I have ruined my geometry without writing down default settings. Please help. Is there a reset settings code that is safe to use that will restore settings to what they were sent to the store with? Obviously I don't want to reset to prior factory calibration settings though.

Don't feel too bad. There are no "default" settings. Each set is calibrated by eye and by using test patterns. The easiest thing to do is to put up the resolution test pattern from avia and use it to set geomentry. There is a large circle in the middle and four smaller circles around the corners. Take your time and tweak until the circles are all round and not oval. Set the DVD player for 4;3 and tweak it then use one of the 16:9 enhanced patterns (change the dvd player to 16:9 mode) to tweak it in 16:9 mode. You'll get there.

LOL you probably did yourself a favor. Now you can go back and actually get it right. I restored my old service manual defaults a few days back to see what my old geometry looked like from the factory settings. LOL it was sooo bad! picture was crooked, the overscan was like 6% on the right side, 4 on the left. The upper pin was pointing to the outer left and right, barely any lines were straight. Too think i actually watched it like this before i learned about the service mode and using avia. Either that or Avia helped me notice even more problems :)
