I just remembered this was released and it's going to be an obsession if I can't find it anywhere since I just got a new 65inch 1080p tv that arrived and I need something to test it out.

Checking Best Buy online they have no Blu-ray and no HD-DVD at the 6 Best Buy stores. I'm thinking it must be an error in their system, so I'll have to call in the morning.

I tried checking Circuit City online but I hate how they don't let you check store availability on both formats.

Well, now I feel better about my situation. I too have been greatly anticipating this release. Although it mine was shipped monday with Amazon prime "2-day shipping", UPS is not going to deliver it until Friday. The wait is agonizing!

Some places have it for 99.00 (Virgin Records in Chicago). There are plenty on the shelf but I wouldn't pay that amount. I pre-ordered from Amazon.com but haven't heard when it will ship but I also rented from Netflix (two of the four disc) and it's scheduled to be here today or tommorow.

I got cold feet and cancelled my WHV order. Then I reconsidered and ordered it from Amazon on 4/16. It arrived on Tuesday, the day it was released in stores.

Today Amazon said they were refunding me over two dollars due to a price drop since my pre-order. Sweet! :D

Wow. With all the hype about this, I have to admit, that I'm a bit underwhelmed. So far, I've seen the first 5 episodes. Yes, its very nice photography, but as far as nature shows go, its not that exciting. Perhaps because I watch alot of similar shows on PBS and discovery etc., I had my expectations too high.Either way, I certainly wouldn't obsess over it.

I am sorry to hear of the ailments of obsession. I was pretty psyched about picking up "Planet Earth" in HD DVD myself, and I just discovered all of the episodes are on "On Demand", but with Sygourney (sp?) Weaver doing the voice over. It seemed pretty cool.

I agree that is similar to other nature shows that I have seen on PBS HD or Discovery. It was a bunch of great shots of nature quickly strung together and jumps around fast. (Great for my short attention span, BTW) :D

I decided to take a break from HD DVD and spend my $$$ on some new clipless mountain bike pedals and shoes, so I guess I'll have to catch some nature, while I'm out getting my bum in shape this season. :D

Luckily I capped the HD broadcasts and can enjoy those since my WHV order is stuck in-process and I have to wait.

Edit: Turns out that HD-DVD World is having some telephone problems due to a recent change to their service. After exchanging E-mails with their customer service, I went ahead and placed an order for Planet Earth and cancelled my order with Warner Home Video. While I was at it, I also cancelled my Matrix order with Warner HV too. Warner HV won't get anymore of my business, even if they do have the lowest prices. They must be using a tablet and chisel to keep track of what shipped when. Sad.. really sad.

See this is the thing I hate about Prime. They never use actual 2 day service in most cases because they ship to you from a distro center that is within a 2-day zone for ground. Problem is, the shipper is not required to meet that transit time on a ground package. And since Prime is a membership, you really can't ask for "part" of your fee back.

I've complained about this a couple times, and once I got a coupon out of it. Still it is definitely an annoyance at times.

All the suppliers are sold out of Planet Earth. I last heard they should it back in stock in a few more weeks. I have just two left.

I am still awaiting confirmation/shipping of my WHV order for this that I placed on 4/4! Grrr!

Well I've made it to Step 5 (shipped) on newegg, but I've yet to see a tracking # on the shipment, and also newegg now says out of stock! So HOPEFULLY I'll have this set no later than Monday, but the way it's been going, who knows! Once I see a tracking #, I'll feel a little better about it. But I also wonder if they show a tracking # with 2nd Day Air shipping? I've never ordered with that shipping before.

And also I called Warner today to cancel my order, and the rep said that they would know by 3:30 today if the order would be canceled, because of the shipping department. I think it's ridiculous that it gets to that point without even having the damn thing in stock, but what do I know.

In New Jersey, ordered Monday night - shipped Tuesday from Kentucky - arrived Thursday 2nd day air

Prime worked out awesome for me this time around, but I have gotten UPS ground from nearby distribution center in the past(Elizabeth NJ i think). Usually the close dist. centers make ground deliveries the next day (in the NY, Philly, New Jersey area atleast), but I can see where problems could arise when the sender is not obligated to meet that 2 day promise from amazon.

I just got mine this afternoon, it showed up at BB several days late (priced match with a Target.com printout - they don't even look at it though :p), but at least it showed, looks nice sitting there in my slowly growling collection! Only had a chance to watch a few minutes, but I see what some others have mentioned, there are moments that are incred, true eye candy, show off material, etc, then moments later, not so much, not bad there of course, but just clearly not on the level you had just witnessed, but it doesn't last long before it's amazing again...helluva great addition!! =)

BTW, don't care much for the case, two of the discs were floating free when I opened it, luckily no scratches. =/
